Niall's New Boat

Niall has just got a shiny new P+H Scorpio, and it was needing an outing. We took the opportunity of a slight rise in the temperature for trip south from St Andrews yesterday. The sunshine was hazy at first, but as it broke through there was an extraordinary amount of steam rising from the fields. It didn't photograph well, unfortunately, though it was a bit surreal.
We paused at the Rock and Spindle. The strange shape is apparently because of basalt cooling in a cavity.

Lunch and turning point was at the Kenly Water, the small burn that runs through Boarhills.

I love the rocks along this coast- lovely warm red sandstone, which weathers into crazy paving patterns.
