A Winter Afternoon

It's been a fine crisp winter's day, and I had a chance to get out for some exercise this afternoon. The recent strong winds have dropped, and the light was crystal clear.

I'd started at Elie and had an easy drift along past St Monans and Pittenweem, with a following sea. There had seemed to be no wind at all until I turned round.
The timing was spot on to arrive back at Ruby Bay just as darkness fell.

It's arrived!

After a long gestation my new Rockpool GT has been delivered! She's absolutely beautiful- a sparkling blue deck with a couple of big starfish and two wee ones. Unfortunately today was not a wonderful one for her maiden voyage. There was a bitterly cold wind, up to force 5 in Elie Bay, with some snow. Her first 200 yards of paddling were distinctly rough, coming out from behind the harbour wall into first surf, then reflected waves. She behaved perfectly, though. A short haul across the bay, some fiddling with foot rests, and a blast back downwind was enough, given the weather.
Angus and Morgan took the pictures.
