Isle of May

I paddled out here a little while ago. It was a spur of the moment thing on a late summer day, flat calm all the way out and back. The nesting season was finished, but the seals were still there, and their singing was audible long before they were visible. The island itself is a beautiful green serene spot. The turf is full of puffin burrows. I was surprised how high the cliffs are- it really isn't apparent from the mainland. There is a fine arch to paddle through.
